Carteret County Economic Development Department

The Carteret County Economic Development Department is here to assist you. Whether you are an individual moving to Carteret County or a new or existing business, we can help connect you to many state and local resources that are available  at no cost.

The Carteret County Economic Development Department is part of Carteret County government. The department has a two-person staff: Director and department head Don Kirkman and Administrative Officer Michele Querry. The department head reports to Carteret County Manager Tommy Burns.

In addition, the staff administers the Carteret County Economic Development Foundation, which is a private, nonprofit organization formed to support economic development and community development in Carteret County.

Meet The Staff

Michele Querry is a seasoned executive and development professional with over 15 years experience negotiating strategic partnerships and raising revenue in the nonprofit, higher education, government/politics and business sectors.  She has a diverse background in marketing, community engagement, business and workforce development.  Querry is a graduate of Texas A&M University and obtained her Master of Arts in Public Administration from Webster University.
